The Mission of the International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University is to provide economic education and research at the highest level for the benefit of the public and private sectors in the South Caucasus countries.
The International School of Economics at TSU is committed to building a sustainable economics community that can represent the South Caucasus countries in the international economics profession.
ISET contributes to improving public policy by providing impartial analyses of economic issues confronting society and educating those who must deal with these issues. ISET contributes to economic literacy among the general public through its educational and outreach activities. ISET also provides local and international businesses with applied research, executive education and consulting.
ISET will be a model for the other universities and institutions in developing and transition countries seeking to build centers of modern studies in economics.
In order to fulfill its mission, ISET will:
train future public officials, business leaders, academic economists and researchers, typically from the South Caucasus and neighboring countries, in modern economics
bring western-trained economists to the South Caucasus Region
initiate, stimulate and support academic and policy-oriented international-quality economics research
disseminate research and policy information to public officials, corporate managers, academic economists, and the general public throughout the region and the world through seminars, conferences, workshops, working papers and other publications
provide resources, materials, and training for undergraduate and graduate curriculum development in modern economics at universities throughout the South Caucasus Region.
