On February 1, 2010, ISET (International School of Economics at TSU) opened its annual application process for its highly-prestigious Master's Degree Program in Economics.  ISET's curriculum mirrors the best programs in the US and Western Europe, and is taught all in English by international professors.

Applications will be accepted online (http://www.iset.ge/apps/) until April 26, and admissions exams in English and mathematics will be conducted in Baku, Yerevan, and Tbilisi in early May. However, applicants are encouraged to apply early, in order to be eligible for preparatory courses in English and Mathematics to help familiarize themselves with the material to be covered on the admissions exams.

Students applying to the Master's degree program this year are also eligible for new Future Leader's Scholarships, which cover the full cost of tuition and provide living stipends of up to $500 per month.  Up to ten such scholarships are available for the most outstanding applicants. Additionally, all successful students are offered partial scholarships and stipends, and access to subsidized student loans.  International students receive housing, and housing assistance is available to Georgian students from outside Tbilisi.

For those students entering ISET in 2010, the School is pleased to offer the possibility for a semester abroad in Western Europe or the US; internships in the region and abroad, with governmental and non-governmental organizations and private companies; participation in applied concentrations, such as energy, finance, international trade, and applied research methods; and placement assistance for the top graduates in PhD programs in the US and Western Europe.

Notes ISET Executive Director Eric Livny, "ISET has always been a great place, but now it is becoming even better. We are increasing the opportunity for students to get experience abroad before they even graduate from ISET.  And our new concentrations will help students be even better prepared for the job market."

Established in 2006 and sponsored by a consortium of international donors, including BP, the CERGE-EI Foundation, the Government of Georgia, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, OSI, Sida, USAID, and the World Bank, ISET is the only institution in the South Caucasus offering an international-caliber Master's Program in Economics.  With a regional mission for education and research, the School targets students from the three South Caucasus countries.  Despite its short history, ISET has been quite successful, with graduates currently working in analytical positions in the National Banks and ministries in all three South Caucasus countries and studying in PhD programs in at the Universities of Chicago, Pennsylvania, Illinois at Urbana Champaign, Carlos III in Madrid, Toulouse, Boston University, and Leuven (Belgium), among others.
