Excellent Curriculum

Study all in English

At ISET, you'll follow a US Master's degree curriculum, taught all in English, using modern US and European textbooks.  In the first year, you'll study microeconomics, macroeconomics, statistics/econometrics, mathematics, and academic writing.  In the second year, you'll undertake a writing project and take elective courses ranging from finance to international trade to environmental policy (click here to see a full list of electives).

ISET's professors come from the world's top economics programs, including Columbia University in New York; University of Pennsylvania; University of Chicago; Hebrew University of Jerusalem; Carlos III University in Madrid, Spain; University of Bologna, Italy; and City University of London, among others.

Applied concentrations preparing students for private and public sector employment

In the second year of study at ISET, students are offered applied concentrations that allow them to complement their core coursework with specialized training in one or more practical fields such as energy, finance, international trade and applied research methods.

Exceptional Opportunities

Placement in top US and Western European PhD program

ISET assists its best graduates in gaining admission to some of the most prestigious PhD programs worldwide. Currently, ISET graduates are studying in PhD programs at the Universities of Chicago, Pennsylvania, Illinois at Urbana Champaign, Carlos III in Madrid, Toulouse, Boston University, and Leuven (Belgium), among others.

Possibility to do a semester exchange in Europe/US

Beginning in 2011, ISET students will have the opportunity to spend one semester abroad in a Western European or US university during the second year of the Master's program.

Summer internships in the South Caucasus and abroad

As an ISET student, you'll be able to gain real work experience during the summer. In the past, students have interned abroad-at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London and the World Bank in Washington, DC-as well as in their home countries in the national banks and ministries of finance and economy, private companies, and international organizations. Generous Financial Support

Great scholarships; and living stipends, up to $500/month

All of our students receive at least partial scholarships. Generally, the top 30% of the class receive full tuition remission. 

ISET students from Georgia are eligible for specially-negotiated reduced-rate student loans from local banks.

Additionally, ISET students receive living stipends.  Regular living stipends range from $60-$100, but beginning in 2010, the outstanding students will be awarded prestigious Future Leader Scholarships providing full tuition waivers and living stipends of up to $500/month.

Housing for students from outside Tbilisi

Beginning in 2010, ISET will provide all international students with space in a shared ISET student apartment in Tbilisi, in a location easily-accessible to the ISET campus. ISET also provides modest housing assistance to Georgian students from outside Tbilisi.
