Another Lecture Sponsored by the ISET Advisory Business Council
As part of the continuing lecture series organized by ISET's Advisory Business Council (ABC), ISET hosted Mr. Hardeep Singh, CEO of GeoSteel LLC. On December 11, 2009, Mr. Singh was welcomed at ISET by the School's ABC Chair Jemal Inaishvili, as well as ISET students and faculty.
Singh delivered a presentation about a new, 70 million USD investment in Georgia and current trends in the country's steel market. The presentation focused on the initial investigation of the Georgian market, provided details of the start-up phase and included a photo presentation of the steel factory.
The presentation included discussion of the raw materials, capacity of the plant, products, training for employees, demand and future plans of exporting steel to other countries. Mr. Singh also explained the importance of steel production in Georgia and in the South Caucasus region.
The presentation was followed by an extensive question-and-answer session and a lively discussion. Mr. Singh invited ISET students to visit the steel factory in Rustavi in order to learn more.
